‘Spent all day yesterday gettin’ th’ blog up an’ runnin’. After a couple o’ calls to th’ Support section an’ a bit o’ help from my Sweetie, I got th’ thing more or less squared away. After a 12 hr. day…
Now I’m told that what I installed is an old version an’ “here’s the new version; just D/L it…” . Yeah, RIGHT! I’m still not real sure ’bout th’ one I’ve GOT. I’m really not too sure I want t’ go thru THAT again. ‘Time it’s all over I’ll owe my soul to th’ geeks. An’ my WIFE’s one of ‘em!
There’s a boatload o’ stuff I need t’ tend to. Got t’ upload a fistful o’ pix to Oz… after I resize ‘em an’ get ‘em t’gether in a folder. I’ve signed on w/a (photo) stock co. named Oz Images. (‘Been about a mo. an’ no sales yet. We’ll see… ) They handle clients from th’ commercial world, magazine art directors, ad co. folks an’ such-like. For th’ “rest of the story…” I’ve got my own site, http://www.timepiecephoto.com . That’s for those that want Eye Candy for their walls. I’ve really got to get a “shopping cart” up on that… somethin’ else t’ do…soon.
Then there’s my half o’ th’ bedroom t’ be picked up. Two stacks o’ magazines an’ a box o’ books (Tnx, Grant!) in th’ corner. ’Have t’ find a gro. bag t’ put th’ mags in an’ figure a way t’ carry th’ box. An’ there’s a few dishes t’ wash, so Sweetie doesn’t have t’ clean up (too much) after me when she gets home.
An’ there’s a 1/4 scale model of an Aeronca 7AC “Champ” in th’ shop that I’m dyin’ t’ get back to. It’s “in th’ bones” an’ waitin’ f’ some skin-work. For those among us that don’t build ‘em, that means the skeleton of th’ aircraft (hereinafter referred to as A/C, easier t’ type) is built an’ I’m gettin’ ready to put sheet-wood over said “bones” t’ form th’ “skin” of th’ thing. And it’s givin’ me a FIT!
Th’ problem is, there’re compound curves in it that I’m havin’ trouble pinning. ( Y’ use straight-pins t’ hold stuff in place, then glue it all. ) But t’ pin a curve, 2 ways, an’ make it all stay put is a real FIGHT! I prob’ly haven’t said here that I’ve got a bit of a problem, in that I had a stroke a few yrs. back (My head blew up!), an’ my R side doesn’t want t’ cooperate. So holdin’ th’ sheet o’ wood, an’ introducin’ th’ curve, an’ pinnin’ it in place is a BEAR!
But none of it’s gettin’ done as long as I sit here bloggin’. More later…
OK, a pleasant surprise; Sweetie’s home. an’ it’s only 4:30! Turns out she’s a taste under th’ weather. Po’ ol’ Sweetie! ‘Guess I can play nurse this weekend.
Got a lot done. Th’ kitchen’s Sweetie-ready, there’s some skin on th’ bottom o’ th’ Champ, an’ there’s 60-odd more pix in Oz’s library, up-loaded, processed, an’ some of ‘em into “lightboxes”. That’s a kind o’ mini-gallery Oz lets us put up t’ show off stuff we’re REAL proud of. A good outfit t’ deal w/. I’ve exchanged e-mails w/th’ honcho an’ he really seems t’ know his stuff, both photographically, and business-wise.
Now, to wrap this up an’ do th’ “geek stuff” an’ start m’ weekend.
